Biotopexkursion - Zur Frauenschuhblüte ins Gadental
Description
The Gadental valley is home to primeval forests with plenty of dead wood. There are also rare forests, such as the species-rich Spiraea forests, which are home to a variety of orchids, including the rare lady's slipper. The interconnectedness of the habitats from the alpine level down to the valley can be seen in the alternation of primeval forest-like woods and semi-natural grasslands in the avalanche paths.
The speaker is Günter Bischof, botanist and hiking guide.
